Sake is an alcoholic beverage of Japanese origin that is made from fermented rice. In Japan, sake is the national beverage and is usually served with great ceramonial practices. The production of sake occurs by the act of polishing rice and there are over 80 different kinds of rice specifically used for sake. The more polished a grain of rice becomes, the more defined and disirable the sake.
